National Fish & Wildlife – ExpressionEngine, Social & Video Support

The Need:
The National Fish Habitat Partnership, supported by the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), needed a flexible, content-rich platform to showcase its vast array of conservation projects, partnership successes, and educational resources. Their previous site was difficult to navigate, lacked dynamic content presentation, and made it hard for regional partnerships and stakeholders to contribute or promote their efforts effectively.

They also needed a system to support seasonal video campaigns, social engagement tools, and media visibility for both national and grassroots-level initiatives—while maintaining government compliance and editorial control.

The Solution:
MMG rebuilt the National Fish Habitat Partnership website using ExpressionEngine, structuring it to accommodate regional partnership updates, embedded multimedia, and searchable project archives. We developed custom content modules for field reports, partnership maps, and project success stories—organized by geography and conservation focus.

The CMS was tailored to support decentralized content entry, allowing regional groups to submit news, videos, and data directly into the workflow without compromising the site’s core integrity. This allowed NFWF’s internal comms team to maintain oversight while empowering the entire network to contribute.

On the content strategy side, MMG helped produce and promote several national campaigns featuring habitat restoration work, using video storytelling, social media support, and landing page optimization to drive public and policymaker engagement.

The Result:
The new site serves as a centralized hub for fish habitat restoration efforts across the United States. It highlights active partnerships, celebrates progress, and supports advocacy through dynamic storytelling and data transparency.

Video campaigns embedded on the site led to strong engagement from conservationists, legislators, and environmental educators. Social media referrals increased, and the site now serves as a trusted resource for both the public and partner organizations seeking funding, updates, or success stories.
