Best digital marketing tools
There are hundreds of digital marketing tools out there for a company to sift through. From lead generation tools to analytics, it can be overwhelming to figure out which one is the best of the best. At Monstrous Media Group, we have had some time to run a couple of trial and errors when it comes to digital marketing tools and platforms. These are our top five marketing tools that any company should be using, and are tested and approved by our Digital Marketing experts!
Monstrous.Digital
A scheduling platform is one of the most important things when it comes to Social Media Marketing. A way to automate and get ahead for weeks to even a month is critical to keep the team and social media posts on track!
At MMG, we have our own HootSuite called Monstrous.Digital! We say our own ‘HootSuite’ because it is similar to a HootSuite or other social media marketing scheduling platforms, but the main difference between Monstrous.Digital and other platforms is that it holds everything under one application.
It is common to find a platform that only allows for scheduling purposes, but with Monstrous.Digital, it allows for scheduling, content curation, analytics, social media reports and even more. It is a platform for digital marketing that holds all the needed information in one space.
Need weekly, monthly or quarterly reporting capabilities without having another application on your desktop. Monstrous.Digital is the answer. What about a social media marketing automation system. Monstrous.Digital is the answer. Scheduling and approval of scheduling? Monstrous.Digital is the answer. Keep all your Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, YouTube and other analytics in one spot.
Monstrous.Email
Monstrous.Email is an email marketing platform that changes the basics of email marketing for companies! At MMG, our company was looking for a simple system that allows for customization, lead generation, drip campaigns and templates!
That’s why our team has Monstrous.Email, but what makes it different than others on the market?
An integrated CMS system! A CRM; also known as Customer Relationship Management, is technology that allows for all your networks to communicate with one another. This means that all streams of communication coming from social media, websites and other places are coming to one space. This is great for lead generation because a company can follow up with leads with a template that has been created, monitor their leads, create drip campaigns and segment these campaigns!
The art of email segmentation is critical for a successful and targeted email marketing campaign. Don’t send clients who are strictly X clients an email regarding Y clients. It does not make sense and loses its personal touch.
From there, see who is opening your email, when they are opening these emails and who they are sending them to. Our platform allows for the following to be monitored once a campaign is sent out:
Who opened it
How many times
Geographics
Demographics
Forwarded emails
Messages send with forwarded emails
Yup, all of this can be monitored to see who a company should be following up with.
Google Analytics
At Monstrous Media Group, our company will scream from the mountain tops that Google Analytics is critical for the success of a company. Often times, a company comes to MMG with no system in place to understand their website traffic or know if they are garnering unanswered leads.
Where is traffic coming from? How much monthly traffic is coming to the website? Not sure. That could be wasted opportunities and sales that are not being monitored by any type of system. First things first, a company needs to know where the traffic is coming from for ROI purposes.
Return of Investment (ROI)! What is our ROI? Well, what are the goals and tracking that will be set up in place? If you are searching to have contact us forms filled out, how do you know they are being filled out? How much money is being sold off X product? Without all of this, money could be tossed into the wind.
Trial and Error. It is important to test different methods to find the best one for the company and where more or less money should be allocated. Stop spending money on PPC ads if they are not being in leads and costing more per click than they are bringing in. What about the landing page for a new product? Is it bringing in any traffic with that new test? A company will never know until they try.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)! How is the website ranking? Is it ranking at all? Is there more traffic coming from Bing than Google? This will tell you just about everything a company needs to know about SEO! When it does not, get on SEMRush!
Who are your visitors? Targeting business owners and entrepreneurs but bringing in traffic for a younger generation? This could tell you a couple of different notions:
The targeted keywords might need to be switched
The content is changed
Your original idea of the target audience is skewed
SEMRush
SEMRush is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) tool that digital marketers and SEOs alike can use to monitor, track and conduct research for organic and paid practices! From keyword research and monitoring capabilities to custom SEO reports and analytics, SEMRush provides our team with the latest and best keywords and competitor analysis to keep our clients ranking over time!

Canva
At MMG, Canva is the perfect place for our digital marketers and graphic designers to collaborate on images and projects! Canva provides those who are not able to use Adobe features to create branded images, print media, email marketing campaigns and customizable templates for any other purposes!
The VERY best part is that all images are saved! If the internet crashes, Canva has the last update and anyone can access those images who has the login information!
Bitly
Raise your hand if you hate long URLs on social media platforms! (Our hands are raised!) Bitly allows for a company to make sure all of their URLs are clean and as short as possible, but at the same time, tracks all clicks and opens with any URL!
Our suggestion is that a company implements Bitly to keep track of their opens, shares and comments from a link. A customized link, such as a landing page link, can be tracked over time to see how many clicks the links has had, the geographics of this click and even more!
If there is a link that consistently is being opened, keep that on rotation. It is important to understand what is working so you can create similar content to this link, and to understand what content your audience will click on.
Hire the team to help you with your website, app, or other marketing needs.
